Grey Skater Dress, Blazer, and Strappy Heels

img_4668

For my birthday, my boyfriend took me to dinner at Bazaar By Jose Andres. It’s a Spanish style tapas restaurant that I had been wanting to go to for a while but we kept putting it in the back burner until now. This outfit was one of the options for dinner since the atmosphere was a very fancy and sophisticated feel. Needless to say, I didn’t end up wearing this but I did take a few pictures of it! I was mostly because it’s been cold in the evenings so I wasn’t sure about bearing my legs that night.

I don’t often get dressed up but it was nice wearing a dress and strappy heels for a little bit. I purchased this dress from Missguided a while ago because I felt like I could wear this anywhere. It could easily be used for a nicer occasion or dressed down for an everyday look! For one of my dinner outfit options, I threw my blazer over it and paired it with my black lace up strappy heels.

White and Blue Ruffle Blouse

img_7366

I have been loving ruffled sleeves lately and this blouse from Shein is absolutely darling! I also love the white with chambray blue sleeves, such a pretty color palette! It was particularly warm that day so this was such a comfortable and casual piece to simply throw on for the day. The boyfriend and I are going on a big trip during December so we have been trying to make sure we get everything done before then. From getting our Visas to International Driving Permits, it’s been a whirlwind! Can’t wait to show you guys our travel pictures! But gotta go on the trip first!

Slouchy Cardigan and Slip Dress

I have been loving the cool weather lately and whipping out my cozy knit sweaters and cardigans! It’s not going to get cold in LA or anything so it still allows me to wear a dress. I love pairing a slip dress with an oversized sweater for a relaxed yet feminine look. I recently purchased both the dress and sweater with the idea to pair them together and I loved how it turned out! The family and I went to pig out at Smorgasburg LA on a gloomy day, so this was the perfect outfit for that!

Leather Jacket and Long Sleeve Jersey Dress

img_7383

Because it doesn’t really get way too cold here in LA, I can still get away with wearing dress during Fall and Winter. Just as long as I throw a sweater or jacket over it. Here, I wore a simple long sleeved sweater dress from Old Navy with my black leather jacket from Zara. I kept it pretty casual with a pair of white sneakers but if you want to dress it up, you can always throw on heeled booties or heels. My dress is very basic and simple that it can be worn in a lot of different ways but I wanted to add a little edginess to it by pairing it with a leather jacket.

What do you think?

Happy Halloween!

I normally don’t dress up for Halloween or do anything special because we never find anything we want to attend and I get lazy, so staying home and passing out candy is usually what I end up doing. This year, my coworker invited us to her annual Halloween shindig so it was up to us to come up with a couples costume. We played around with the idea of Gomez and Morticia from the Addams Family but we wanted to try to dress up in something with pieces we either already had in our closets or would wear again. After weeks of contemplation, it came to me! We loved Wes Anderson’s ‘Moonrise Kingdom’ so dressing up as Sam Shakusky and Suzy Bishop.

The boyfriend got the khaki button up and shorts in the clearance rack in two stores, the raccoon hat and scarf from Amazon, and I made him his patches/buttons.

I had to find a pink dress with a white collar and didn’t have any luck finding one that I could possibly wear again. I found a bunch on Amazon but those were only for costume purposes, so I wanted to find another option. I stumbled on this one on Asos (on sale as well) and figured I would wear it again, so I just bought it! 🙂 The binoculars are toy ones from Amazon and I had everything else in my closet to finish up the outfit!

Foodie Friday

DELUCA’S ITALIAN DELI in Glendale, CA

The boyfriend and I were shopping around the Americana on Brand one afternoon and I really needed sustenance for all of the walking around, so we stumbled on this Italian deli smackdab in the middle of the shopping area and decided to give it a try! We each got a sandwich- he got a porchetta panini and I got a baguette with mortadella and fresh mozzarella. Add on a side of soup and a bottle of Pellegrino and our meal is complete! I really really liked my sandwich and thought it really hit the spot. Definitely gave me the energy I needed to continue walking and head onto the next activity!

WINSOME in Echo Park, Los Angeles

I’ve been here for brunch before and loved it so when my friend said he wanted to go here for a birthday lunch, I was more than happy to join! I grabbed myself a small coffee and we ordered several dishes to share. The food is so colorful, fresh, and super yummy that I can’t really describe everything, so I’m just going to keep it short and sweet and just tell you guys that you need to go try it for yourself!

They have great drinks both non-alcoholic and alcoholic. Since I don’t drink alcohol, I’ve had the horchata and coffee, both of which were delicious! I also recommend their potato chips and salmon rosti.

AMAZEBOWLS at Smorgasburg LA

This was my second time at Smorgasburg in DTLA and I think I may have eaten more this time around. I went with the family and everyone got different things to share. It was like Thanksgiving, street food style. A cornucopia of delicious items! Didn’t really get to take a picture of everything we ate except this beautifully made Acai bowl from Amazebowls. It was really refreshing and I love that they put it in a coconut and added little edible flowers on it.

Grey Off Shoulder Blouse For a Sick Day

img_7274

I have recently got over a pretty stubborn cold and I remember feeling horrible the day I took these outfit pictures, but I kept my composure and got in some decent shots! I rarely get sick and the last time I was this sick was almost 3 years ago! I guess it was about time anyways, right?

Well, the boyfriend took me out to grab a delicious bowl of ramen to make me feel better. It was warm that day so wrapping myself up in a sweater and scarf just didn’t make any sense, so I made sure to throw on a cute outfit and try to beat this nasty cold! I wore this cute off shoulder grey blouse with a layered detail with a pair of some of my favorite ripped jeans and sandals. Take that, Cold! 🙂

Home Finds: Mid Century Modern

I blame it on Mad Men for the huge explosion of love for Mid Century Modern decor and furniture. The sleek and clean lines with a tinge of cool, retro accents make this style a really sought for look. I myself love certain aspects of it and I can understand the fad. I really have no idea how to define ‘Mid Century Modern’ but when searching for the definition, this was what I was able to find:

It broadly describes architecture, furniture, and graphic design from the middle of the 20th century(roughly 1933 to 1965, though some would argue the period is specifically limited to 1947 to 1957). The timeframe is a modifier for the larger modernist movement, which has roots in the Industrial Revolution at the end of the 19th century and also in the post-World War I period.

Either way, here are a few inspirational pictures below and some of my picks for pieces to add this style to your home!
