Slouchy Cardigan and Slip Dress

img_7344

I have been loving the cool weather lately and whipping out my cozy knit sweaters and cardigans! It’s not going to get cold in LA or anything so it still allows me to wear a dress. I love pairing a slip dress with an oversized sweater for a relaxed yet feminine look. I recently purchased both the dress and sweater with the idea to pair them together and I loved how it turned out! The family and I went to pig out at Smorgasburg LA on a gloomy day, so this was the perfect outfit for that!

Leather Jacket and Long Sleeve Jersey Dress

Because it doesn’t really get way too cold here in LA, I can still get away with wearing dress during Fall and Winter. Just as long as I throw a sweater or jacket over it. Here, I wore a simple long sleeved sweater dress from Old Navy with my black leather jacket from Zara. I kept it pretty casual with a pair of white sneakers but if you want to dress it up, you can always throw on heeled booties or heels. My dress is very basic and simple that it can be worn in a lot of different ways but I wanted to add a little edginess to it by pairing it with a leather jacket.

What do you think?

Happy Halloween!

I normally don’t dress up for Halloween or do anything special because we never find anything we want to attend and I get lazy, so staying home and passing out candy is usually what I end up doing. This year, my coworker invited us to her annual Halloween shindig so it was up to us to come up with a couples costume. We played around with the idea of Gomez and Morticia from the Addams Family but we wanted to try to dress up in something with pieces we either already had in our closets or would wear again. After weeks of contemplation, it came to me! We loved Wes Anderson’s ‘Moonrise Kingdom’ so dressing up as Sam Shakusky and Suzy Bishop.

The boyfriend got the khaki button up and shorts in the clearance rack in two stores, the raccoon hat and scarf from Amazon, and I made him his patches/buttons.

img_4635

I had to find a pink dress with a white collar and didn’t have any luck finding one that I could possibly wear again. I found a bunch on Amazon but those were only for costume purposes, so I wanted to find another option. I stumbled on this one on Asos (on sale as well) and figured I would wear it again, so I just bought it! 🙂 The binoculars are toy ones from Amazon and I had everything else in my closet to finish up the outfit!

Grey Off Shoulder Blouse For a Sick Day

img_7274

I have recently got over a pretty stubborn cold and I remember feeling horrible the day I took these outfit pictures, but I kept my composure and got in some decent shots! I rarely get sick and the last time I was this sick was almost 3 years ago! I guess it was about time anyways, right?

Well, the boyfriend took me out to grab a delicious bowl of ramen to make me feel better. It was warm that day so wrapping myself up in a sweater and scarf just didn’t make any sense, so I made sure to throw on a cute outfit and try to beat this nasty cold! I wore this cute off shoulder grey blouse with a layered detail with a pair of some of my favorite ripped jeans and sandals. Take that, Cold! 🙂

All You Need Is Love

img_7263

I love finding cool murals and backdrops around the city but I particularly ‘love’ this one because of the simplicity of it, yet it conveys such a profound message. With everything that’s going on in the world and violence that occurs each and everyday, a little bit of love can go a long way.

I was feeling particularly sick that day but I made myself get out of the house to grab some soup for lunch and make a pit stop at this beautiful wall. It definitely brightened my day up a bit with all of it’s bold colors.

Oversized Striped Blouse

Most of the time, things are generally oversized on me just like this striped blouse from Romwe. I don’t often have the time to go to the tailor so I make sure to check the dimensions of the items before I purchase anything but there are times when I get it wrong. I discovered that an alternative way to wear blouses like these without having to tailor it is to just wear it as a coverup or ‘cardigan’. It makes a perfect piece to throw over your outfit! I particularly like this piece because of the panels of thin black stripes and the crispness of the fabric. I’ll probably also wear it as a shirt dress too!

What do you guys think?!

Off the Grid

img_7195

I don’t really wear a lot of prints so I generally stick to very simple prints that don’t overwhelm me. Sometimes when I wear large and bold prints, it tends to drown me and make me look even smaller than I already am. If you’re petite like me, try to keep the print small and minimal. I love this button up top with a very sleek grid print. It’s also super comfy and light so when I’m running around town doing errands on a hot day, this is something I automatically gravitate towards.

Shiny Black Shoes

img_7002

I’m so excited that fall is just around the corner! I can already smell the pumpkin spice lattes in the air! Actually, I’ve already had two in the last week or so… You can’t blame a girl! Anyways, what I’m most excited about is being able to transition to my fall wardrobe. There’s nothing like wearing comfy sweaters, scarves, and boots everyday. Makes me feel super cozy and relaxed. When we got a taste of fall the other day, I wore a lightweight trench coat, boyfriend jeans, and my new shiny black patent mules! I’ve been trying to figure out how to wear these shoes and I figured they looked best on me with a relaxed pair of jeans because of the contrast.

Light Blue Off Shoulder Dress

I felt like a glamorous 70s movie star in this dress because of the beautiful soft blue color, pleats, and the off shoulders. I’m following the crowd when I say that I’m currently obsessed with off the shoulder items right now. It’s just so feminine and beautifully shows off your neckline in such an elegant way. I love the details of this dress from the ‘scalloped’ edges, pleats, and tiers. There’s also something so retro about it which makes it even more irresistible!

Olive Midi Dress and a Half Bun

IMG_6936

Most days, I’m awfully lazy and just want to throw on a simple dress and sandals. This particular dress has been a go-to piece in my closet on days like these. I love the lace details in the neckline and that it works as a midi dress for me. I think it was supposed to actually be above the knees but with my height, it’s a midi. 😛

I spent the day exploring the Arts District in Downtown and this outfit was ever so perfectly comfortable for that. We checked out a great lunch spot, had ice cream, and browsed at a book shop for a while. I love days like these!
